.. a magentic stir bar system for the stove top. You know.. a glorified hot plate. No more need to stir continuously, just use a stir bar and walk away. Granted, there was that small choking hazard issue, but I was going to work on that.
But now it looks like I'm too late. I've been scooped.

Totally! That invention is cool, but I think a way to stir from the bottom is better. The stove makers need to put the magnetic stirring under the stove burner.
Or maybe design a pot with a magnetic stirrer in the base with an on/off switch and then you can put a stir bar in your soup or pasta while it cooks.
I wanted to see once if you could just stick a magnetic stir bar into a pot on a commerical induction cook top. I do not recommend doing this. My commis (kitchen grunts) laughed as I was made to scrub out the entire R&D kitchen by our Chef. In hindsight, I should have tested this on a smaller pot with water in it, instead of a large pot I had tomatoes stewing.
