Psycasm is the exploration of the world psychological. Every day phenomenon explained and manipulated to one's own advantage. Written by a slightly overambitious undergrad, Psycasm aims at exploring a whole range of social and cognitive processes in order to best understand how our minds, and those mechanisms that drive them, work.

So we (myself and the Psychobabble crew) are playing around with formatting and structure ideas for the podcast. Here's smething we're going to try and do a bit more of - Shorts. Something well less than 10 minutes that's on topic and covering a nice little chunk of information.
The following is only 8 minutes long, and it covers the history and science behind the idea of 'Women's Intuition'.
The rest of this post is cross-posted at the Psychobabble website, and covers some stuff we're looking at for the future of the show...
In other news we, the Psychobabble crew, have made some big decisions regarding the future format of Psychobabble. We’ve been doing this now since January and we think it’s time we tried to make the show a little bigger, a little better, and a little more accessible. Additionally, these changes should allow us to bring a little more insight to the topics than in the past.
Before I go on though – please consider filling out our survey - we’d like to know a little bit about you, about what you think, and how you’d like us to improve the show. Additionally, we’d like to know if there are any other podcasts you listen to and if you’d like anything you’ve heard on those incorporated into our show. We’re open to all suggestions. Also, we have a double-pass to the movie ‘Drive’ to give away to Australian respondents.
As for our changes – instead of tackling a broad topic like ‘Parental Investment‘ or ‘Luck‘ – we’re going to look at a topical item in the news. For instance Episode 20 will be looking at the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ movement. Each of us on the show will try to explain (elements of) the movement in terms we best understand. Personally, I’ll be looking at how we humans respond to Fairness and Justice (and I’ll be looking for a bit of non-human evidence as well). I believe Nerisa will be looking broadly at Equality and Power Struggles. The idea is that each member brings something different to the table, some piece of insight that relates to their area of interest and study.
Did I mention we have a survey we’d like you to fill out? Not only do we have an actual prize, doing so might imbue you with magical powers.
