Damn Good Technician

I'm a technician at a big ol' pharmaceutical company. A damn good technician, if I do say so myself.

My posts are presented as opinion and commentary and do not represent the views of LabSpaces Productions, LLC, my employer, or my educational institution.

Awesome Stuff

1. Upon registration, I was asked bluntly if I was married. I thought this was weird - shouldn't you just ask who my emergency contact is?
2. Lumbar puncture sucks donkey dick. Or pig scrotum. Our some other horrible thing.
3. Viral meningitis, while vastly better than bacterial meningitis, is still pretty shitty.
4. I'm happy this happened after my bigass talk on Friday.

Hope you feel better
The ER "are you married" question is always asked. If you are married, they will ask you questions about domestic violence. I am not sure if it's a federal mandate or something like that. It has nothing to do with your emergency contact.

Yes, lumbar punctures really suck... I've little doubt that when combined with viral meningitis, they suck even more :( Hope you feel better soon!

I can only hope this happened between 1 and 4 on Sunday, so the suck-fest that was the Vikings was avoided...

Does this qualify for curse status? I didn't realize that having you all join my LabSpaces expedition would result in the reliving of the opening of King Tut's tomb :P

This is, indeed, suck-a-rific. I have been stuck laying on my back all day, thanks to an awesome riotous headache whenever I stand up for more than 30 seconds. Stupid spinal tap.

Thanks for the well-wishes, y'all.

Ow. If that rioutous headache persists, call somebody. About 24 h after mine (a Saturday, of course), standing for more than about 10 seconds would induce that head splitting pain and nausea, despite having choked down 3 L of fluid as advises. Had to go back Monday for a blood patch to seal the teeny hole leaking CSF-it was one of those rare, near instant cures.

I believe I am heading for one of those blood patches - this is now a day of headache if I stand up, and I am insufficiently martyr-y to keep waiting for it to get better.

Wow, that is NOT okay. The whole thing is not okay, actually...but the splitting headache when you try to stand is especially and acutely not okay. Be careful - no martyr's wanted around here!!! Feel better soon.

I hope you feel better soon! I had a tap recently but luckily didn't have meningitis. Rest up :)
