I really like the new banner and tag line, too - lookin' good. :)

I'll get approval for the layout changes before I make them live.  That's a much more involved process.  I'll make a new post and we can decide on final layout changes in a week or so.  First on the list is coding a new section of the site: a Job Board :)

Yes, I like the new "comic book" feel to it myself. I like the black outlining of the LabSpaces in the logo. If we could see something similar with the Releases and Blogs menu lines as well (might need to drop a couple of the options to make room for larger fonts), I think that might be cool.

You still going to go with plans to change the page layouts? Based on the new banner we might want to revisit that to ensure that it all flows smoothly (though I imagine changing the colors of the templates should be easy enough for the most part).

It has kind of a comic book feel, I like it a lot.  It's amazing how much simple little changes like this can change the feel of a site.  I'll get working on spiffing up the menu soon.  That's a bigger pain in the ass.

I had my photog friend whip up a quick beaker.  Do we like this one better?  I think I do.

TJ is on the money with his tagline.  Run with it.

Come up with some suggestions :)  The problem is that it needs to be short. I liked the discussion one because we talk about science in lots of places.

I like what TJ says about the logo- sketch -like would be cool.

I love this banner.

Refresh a couple times to clear your cache.  I'll work on the beaker :)

I don't see the new banner anywhere on the site. I do like the way it looks though (especially the background behind the logo). My only thought was perhaps we resize the beaker to fit inside the logo, but it does look good being larger than the grey background as well. Perhaps a slightly more "realistic" beaker (but keeping a cartoony feel to it ... maybe a little more "sketch-like" if that's possible. That sketch-like style reminds me of a science notebook (yah yah yah ... my tech transfer folks tell me to use ink not pencil!)

The new banner is up as a test. I kind of like it.  Give me some suggestions if you want things changed.  I have no problem messing around with it until we get something we all like.

Jade said she didn't like that catch phrase because sometimes we talk about things other than science.

Here's another one I was messing around with.  I like it a lot more.

I like the 'Where science is discussed' a lot, but not sure I like the grey in the logo.

I see a lot of page visits to those subpages, so yeah, I think people do click on the subcategories.

I'll keep messing around with this in my free time.  I have another big project to start coding soon too...and a bunch of little fixes.  I wish there was more time in the day...
