First of all, as the authors of the research touch upon immune system as a probable reason of what they’ve discovered, I would mention that it’s quite “fashionable” nowadays to speak about “autoimmune nature of a disease”. However, it is not so reliable and it doesn’t mean that in some time we’ll have the same autoimmune aetiopathogenesis of the diseases.

Secondly, there are many other things which suppress the activity of immune system except alcohol, but it doesn’t mean that in this case there is any connection with joints condition.

Thirdly, people who suffer from alcoholism are quite “fail-survival”, which surprises others. So probably it’s not only the question of immune system, because even having their inner resources shriveled, alcohol addicted people keep active and alive for quite a long time (which’s in support of immunity) if alcohol poisoning doesn’t take place, of course.

Fourthly, when we treat something (RA in this case), we shouldn’t do harm to something else (becoming alcoholics), and in case of overdose, having a certain predilection, a person can become addicted.

At the same time, according to our research, alcohol really positively influences locomotor apparatus. The reason is that spinal column and joints’ condition depends on metabolic and hormonal processes. This, in its turn, is connected with a low content of endogenous ethanol and with absence of exogenous ethanol intake (at all). Alcohol is necessary for balanced adoption of food and drinks, without it metabolic processes disturbance takes place, it affects arthral, bony, cartilaginous, and muscular tissue. Besides, shortage of alcohol leads to stress which is accompanied with spasms, and that means it leads to blood circulation and innervation worsening. All this makes a negative background for spinal column and joints pathologies.
