1. ...i have not read this paper in the original...

2. ...thus, my comment may be redundant...

3. ...i recall reviewing a paper [ages ago] on this topic for another mammal and, searching the literature to verify a claim made in the paper under review...

4. ...came across a publication by Schmidt-Nielson advancing the thesis of the new PLoS One publication...that hair in mammals retains heat as well as promotes cooling...

5. ...i do not recall whether S-N supported his statements with evidence...
