Epigenetics: The TIMP1 gene is on the X chromosome but the second copy is not inactivated in every woman. After establishing this variable inactivation, I then compared epigenetic modifications to see what correlated with the escape from X inactivation = acetylation of histone H3. I'm still waiting to see this news rock the scientific world.
