Why do I like marketing? There are reasons for this. This activity is accompanied by continuous work of the brain, and its both hemispheres. There are such unique persons, for example, in advertising agencies, which, without resorting to research and analysis, became industry leaders. However, this is more the exception than the rule. This article describes the key skills of a marketer, and their usefulness for effective activity. 

It often happens that a company has a whole marketing department, in which there are also advertisers and analysts. In such conditions, the work is easier, since the shortcomings of one person more than complement the advantages of another. But what if the department is represented by only one marketer? It means that all the key skills that improve the efficiency of its activities should be equalized in it. But which ones?

Key Marketer Skills
Psychology. As part of this skill, a deep understanding of human client motivation is needed. When selling something, it is important to understand which criterion will encourage the customer to purchase. There is no knowledge of psychology anywhere.

Communication. You want, you do not want, and the marketer has to communicate, both in writing and verbally. In connection with what you need to be able to be convincing and understandable.

Interpersonal skills. The ability to listen, the charisma of the marketer, even elementary sympathy will allow you to interact better both inside and outside the company.

Analytic skills. These include:

understanding of data of various statements (financial, for example, or budget);
understanding of marketing research data and the ability to draw the right conclusions from them;
ability to analyze databases and statistics.
Wide horizons. The knowledge of a qualified marketing manager should not be limited only to its industry and marketing. In his industry, he should be just a professional, but other industries need to know too.

Broad cultural knowledge. Cultural knowledge is an important part of key marketing skills, especially those from other countries. Firstly, experience, and secondly, in the international activities of the company, this knowledge will prevent mistakes.

And where does the brain?
It has long been known that different hemispheres of the brain are responsible for different actions. If, for example, we are talking about developing and launching an advertising campaign, the right hemisphere works more. It is responsible for creativity, abstraction and visual component. And if we are talking, for example, about analyzing a group of goods or calculating the turnover of a product, then the left side is included.

What kind of thinking should a good marketer have? Do not believe different. At the time of developing an elegant packaging design, the right side should work. And if, is considered the effectiveness of the action - the left. And all this in one person. And you need to switch quickly so that marketing is more interesting and better. So, it only remains to develop key marketer skills and build the perfect marketing in your companies.
