I got this idea from a comment on my recent thread, and it is an exercise I have done before. I thought it might be fun to do here, seeing as we have such a diverse group. Basically it involves writing a 500 word description of your work aimed at high school student or a professional from a non-science background. Next we passed it around the group (typically it was biomedical heavy!) and asked questions. From the questions, and how we addressed them, we were able to modify the original piece. I was quite proud of my final version!
It might be tricky for those of you trying to keep a level of anonymity, so perhaps you could do more general description of your field rather that your actual research.
I for one would love to hear more about everyone’s research, or something close. What do you think?
anonyminity would be harder but defiinitly something related maybe or I could do a quick bit on protein chemistry, it affects much biomed research and is close to what I do. As in how biomarker discovery is done using MS and things... ok brain spinning
PS been slightly absent due to illness now catch up.. getting in saddle again though yeehhaaawww folks
