Great idea! I'm sorry that I missed it...I'll have to join in next time. Sadly, my 'life' got in the way of work, fun, and everything else for a bit... Back to work now!

It's ok Kelly! It would have been cool to get a student's perspective, though. Then we would have covered the whole range of science lives :)

Brian Krueger, PhD said: For sure, great idea on your part! We should do something like this once a month, or at least once every couple of months. What do you guys think?

I was actually thinking about this too. I think we should start a new thread for topic suggestions! Perhaps I'll go do that now :P

I have to say I think this has been a successful endeavor. Good job everyone.

I will be out of the office all day tomorrow (another tradeshow) so I will post something late tonight. I am looking forward to reading everyone's articles tomorrow evening when I get home. It was a tough one to write about.

Kelly put up a post, its more about our personal strife and dilemma and less about how bad we got shredded through the grinder.

I would join in with this, but I'm not sure you could class what I do as work... :P

Sounds like a good idea, and I have the PERFECT story to tell about a relationship that was ended by science ;)

OK- Tuesday sounds good. Genomic Repairman wrote a really good post on his previous blog. I can totally relate. I am in the same situation, even though it is gender reversed.

I think everyone can just write whatever comes to mind on the subject, whether it is how you deal with it, or complaining about it, or the difference between dating a scientist and a non-scientist- if you've been with both.

I'm not sure what approach I will take yet.

I'm in too. Although I think that most of my stuff is a how work screws up my life. ;P

I was figuring our issues of balancing work and life respective to us. I'm going to talk about my significant other, how I'm always busy and she's not, plus commuting to work.

Tuesday would work for me too. I want to crank out a few posts this weekend, anyway. Any particular theme?

Probably Tuesday for me. I've had so little time to do anything other than experiments and coding :(

Doesn't matter to me, maybe we all release on the topic within a few days. Its probably to much to ask for all of us to drop posts on the same day?

Sure, were you thinking of some sort of theme of posts or all posting on the same day?

So Jade Ed and I are in cahoots (actually just talking about but cahoots sounds way cooler) about synchronized posting about our WorkLife/Relationship issues. Does anyone else want in? I think it would be great if everyone wanted to post something so that its capturing each of our perspectives relative to where we are in our career path (grad student, postdoc, industry, etc).
