so... if you just rinse out your lens CASE with tap water are you susceptable?

My guess is that in the US, this isn't an issue at all. Our tap water is usually chlorinated. I'm not sure if that's true for where this study was conducted in the caribbean (Tenerife).

I believe your point is invalid, given this statement in the article "As the amoeba can be found in chlorinated swimming pools and domestic tap water"... it seems chlorine is ineffective in killing this particular amoeba.
