A little bit bitch and a little bit buddhist always at the intersection of biology, gender, race, and culture. This blog documents my experience as a Canadian postdoc living and working in the United States. I can't promise to be PG13. In fact I promise not to be PG13.
My posts are presented as opinion and commentary and do not represent the views of LabSpaces Productions, LLC, my employer, or my educational institution.

I showed this to one of my roommates, and he set the image as the wallpaper on the computers in his lab.
@ Martin. Look down at the column for say PhD student. Now go to the first row of that column, the PhD student is seen by the undergraduate as someone who drinks to excess. The second row of that column is how other PhD students are seen by a PhD student. The third column, frankly my fav is that postdocs generally see PhD students as the child who won't listen to past experience. The PI basically sees grad students as slave labour. The technician sees the PhD student(s) as a bunch of kids waiting for stuff provided by the teacher aka the technician.
@CanadianGirlPostdoc : Thank you very much for your answer!!!! That's very nice of you!!! If you like, we could talk further... email me @ chem211993@gmail.com.. No push OK ? :)
Very very nice one! LOL :-))))) but I think the first 2 pics should be the other way around... ;-)
ok i quite dont get the way PI's see undergrads? like scarcely dressed simple looking young women? :D
@Martina: I think he meant that they only notice (and concerned with) sexy girls among the group. you know, they need to have a break after all these years of science :)
The pictures that depict the way that Undergrads, PhD students, and Postdocs, especially the latter two, as supposedly seen by Professors are in very bad taste.
